Left Unattended

My eyes see
Not a world brand new
But a world full of woe
It’s a sad world
Left unattended.

My heart feels
An empty place
Left unattended
Yet full of grace.

My ears hear
The singing rhythm
Of everyone’s glances
Upon broken promises
All left unattended.

My nose smells
The rotten copse
Left unattended
In the spring of lust
To dance upon one’s broken heart
While singing life’s hidden woes.

Upon my sweet touch
I feel your warmth
Abiding still
Gathered to me once more
Bringing back to me
A world fully tended.
